In the extrusion process of aluminum alloy profiles, molds play a crucial role in achieving the entire extrusion process. A reasonable structure of the mold is the foundation for implementing the extrusion process, because the mold is a key component that causes metal to undergo extrusion deformation, and is an important guarantee for product forming and dimensional accuracy. At the same time, the mold is also one of the important factors to ensure the internal and external quality of the product. Mold design and manufacturing of industrial aluminum profiles.

(1) Technical measures to improve the uniform flowability of metals:

When extruding complex industrial aluminum profiles, the flow of metal is very uneven, with slow metal flow in thin walled areas and fast metal flow in thick walled areas. If no measures are taken to allow it to flow freely, additional stress will be generated in industrial aluminum profiles, leading to structural and performance defects and geometric distortion deformation of industrial aluminum profiles.

(2) Empty blade for industrial aluminum profile molds:

The outlet diameter of industrial aluminum profile molds is also known as an empty knife, strictly speaking, the part where the outlet diameter of the mold is greater than the diameter of the working strip of the mold hole should be called an empty knife. If the empty knife is too large, it may affect the strength performance of the mold; If the empty knife is too small, it will scratch the surface of industrial aluminum profile products. Generally, its outlet diameter is 4-5mm larger than the diameter of the fixed diameter belt.

(3) Heating of industrial aluminum profile extrusion molds:

During the hot extrusion production process of industrial aluminum profiles, tools and molds that come into direct contact with the ingot need to be preheated. The tool heating furnace generally has a fixed temperature of 400 ℃, and in special circumstances, a fixed temperature of 450 ℃ is better. The mold needs to be insulated for at least 1 hour after reaching the temperature in the insulation furnace; There are currently two methods for heating industrial aluminum profile extrusion tubes: one is to place them in a tool furnace for heating, with a insulation time of no less than 6 hours. At that time, they can be quickly connected and installed with the extruder. After installation, they can be extruded using their own heating device to maintain insulation at a certain temperature. This method is less time-consuming, but when installed in a hot state, it is inconvenient to operate and increases labor intensity. Another method is to directly use the extrusion tube’s own device for heating, but it takes a long time and affects the production progress.
