China has about 300 types of alloys and 1500 varieties of aluminum processing materials, making it one of the countries with a very rich variety of products in the world. Among the numerous varieties of aluminum processing materials, a large number of international advanced products and national famous brand products have emerged, representing the mainstream direction of the development and application of modern aluminum processing technology in China. Have you figured out all these commonly used grades of aluminum profiles?

The first digit of the grade represents the aluminum alloy series, the second digit represents the modification of the original aluminum alloy, and the last two digits represent the purity of the aluminum alloy in the same group.

1100: For processing, good formability and high corrosion resistance are required, but high-strength parts are not required. For example, storage containers, sheet metal processing parts, deep drawing concave vessels, heat exchangers, printed plates, nameplates, reflective devices, etc.

2011: Fast cutting alloy, with good cutting performance and high strength, but poor corrosion resistance, suitable for volume shafts, optical components, screw heads, screws, and mechanical processing products that require good cutting performance.

3003: It has the properties of 1xxx series alloys and higher strength than 1xxxx series alloys, such as kitchenware, food and chemical product processing and storage devices, tanks and cans for transporting liquid products, as well as various pressure vessels and pipelines for sheet metal processing.

4A01: High silicon content, heat-resistant, wear-resistant, belongs to building materials, mechanical parts, forging materials, welding materials.

5052: A representative alloy with moderate strength (5083 is very high), with good corrosion resistance, dissolution and formability, especially high fatigue strength and good seawater resistance. It is used to manufacture aircraft fuel tanks, oil pipes, as well as sheet metal parts for transportation vehicles and ships, instruments, street lamp brackets and rivets, hardware products, etc.

6061: Heat treated corrosion-resistant alloy. T6 treatment can have a very high endurance value, but the strength of the fusion interface is low, making it suitable for screws, ships, vehicles, and onshore structures.

6N01: A medium strength extrusion alloy that can be used to make large and thin meat profiles with complex shapes. It has excellent corrosion resistance and solubility. Suitable for vehicles, onshore structures, and ships.

6063: A representative extrusion alloy with lower strength than 6061 and good extrusion performance. It can be used as profiles for complex cross-sectional shapes, with excellent corrosion resistance and surface treatment. It is suitable for building highway guardrails, vehicles, furniture, household appliances, and decorations.

7072: Low electrode potential, mainly used for corrosion-resistant covering materials, also suitable for heat exchanger fins, air conditioner aluminum foil, and ultra-thin strips.

7075: One of the high-strength alloys in aluminum alloys, but with poor corrosion resistance. Covering with 7072 can improve its corrosion resistance, but the cost increases. Suitable for aircraft, ski poles, thick plate forgings.
